A) UMP does provide a limited number of financial assistance for deserving candidates. These assistances may cover living cost only or cover both living expenses and tuition fees.Candidates requiring financial assistance to study in UMP must apply for assistance before commencing their study in UMP. Such candidates should only commence their candidature when their application is successful. Applicants who are not dependent on financial assistance from UMP may commence their study at any time. Applicants must be fully responsible for the financial application of their decision to commence their study.
The financial assistance by UMP are in two forms, being:
2. Doctoral Scholarship Scheme (DSS)
GRS provides RM1000 per month meant to cover student living cost. For prudent students, this amount could also be enough to help pay for tuition. DSS provides assistance to cover both living and tuition cost. However, DSS is meant only for student registered in a doctoral program. The amount provided for living cost is RM1800 per month.
B) Malaysian candidates who have no sponsorships, can apply for the scholarships issued by the Ministry of Higher of Education Malaysia under the MyBrain15 project. For more information, please click here.
C) Malaysian candidates working for supervisors whose research are funded by grants from Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation could apply for financing from the ministry. Two funding schemes are available for such candidates being:
1. NSF Scheme
2. PGD Scheme

D) International Candidates may apply for Scholarship for Graduate Studies made available under the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program. A total of 100 awards are made available under this scheme. Interested candidates may find further information on this scheme from http://www.mohe.gov.my. Candidates who are funded through this scheme are entitled for further support from UMP in the form of travel grant to present research findings and research funds to pay for research activities.
E) International Candidates are advised to apply for the Malaysia International Scholarship or Commonwealth Scholarship & Fellowship Plan (CSFP). For more details, click here.
